Alex Rossi 6-5

New Trier High School - Rising Stars

1. How does it feel to be conference champs?

It feels great to be conference champs since I'm a freshman I am able to give it a 4 year run. I'm sure not too many people have won conference 4 years in a row.

2. What are your goals for the rest of the playoffs?

My goal this season personally is to play more fourth quarters.  I have only been able to play in a few big game fourth quarters and I want to be able to put in a position to help my team when it really matters.

3. How is it being a freshman on varsity?

At first being on varsity was a huge deal.  It felt really uncomfortable at first but now it's just my team.  It's a blast, I'm so happy I get to do it for four years.  There is nothing like running out on the floor for a home game.

4. What's the best part about your game?

I can score.  I think I also can see the floor very well.  Granted I'm still getting used to the fast pace of varsity but I still seem to be in the right places at the right time... most of the time.

5. What's your dream school?

My dream school would be by the ocean and somewhere that is always warm.  I would probably have to say UCLA.

6. How's New Trier treating you?

I love New Trier.  After coming from a school that graduated 40 kids, it's refreshing to be able to meet so many new ones.  There is something for everybody at New Trier, you can never be left out.

7. How's the adjustment from 8th grade to the varsity level?

In 8th grade I could pretty much just do whatever I wanted.  The varsity game is so much faster, the guys are so much stronger.  Now I am forced to use a lot of my mental abilities on the floor because I can't outmuscle them like I use to.

8. Has this been the highlight of your high school career as of now?

Yes.  My coaches are great and my teammates are great.  I don't feel like I'm a freshman when I'm playing with them.

9. So are you hot stuff now on campus?

I don't know if it's because of my good looks or my basketball abilities.. or what, but I seem to be pretty well excepted.  There aren't too many people I don't get a long with.
