Jordan on his way to bigger and better things

Loyola senior ready to close the books on high school career

Jeff Jordan is more then aware of his surroundings. He knows what's at stake.  He's not concerned with the pessimists at this point and has instead channeled his focus to those who he believes will help him succeed. What's left is an 18 year old with a decision looming and one goal in mind - To prove the doubters wrong.

Sometime tomorrow or later this week, Jeff Jordan claims he'll have come to a decision regarding his college choice. "I will most likely decide at the end of this week," said the Rambler. That decision, which has everyone waiting intently - much like a presidential race, will abruptly come to an end within countable hours. It's not that Jeff likes drama, it's merely the fact he wants to make the right decision. Truth be told, Jordan is much like any other high school senior with the same fears and aspirations about going off to college.

"I'm more excited and anxious then anything just because I'm finally out on my own and I can keep building and creating the name that I've already made for myself," said Jordan about his opportunity to continue his career in college. Jeff feels as though he won't waste a minute of time relishing the opportunity. "I'm definitely going to start working out with my dad's trainer Tim Grover ASAP and then when I need to go in the summer with the guys I'll be ready and in shape." Grover, an elite level coach will be key in the development of the young star.

The Loyola guard still has to cater to a caring mother, much like every other potential recruit.  The fact of the matter is that Jeff's mother Juanita has been very involved in his recruiting process." At first she was just like yeah whatever, but now that it's getting closer she wants me to stay home," Jordan recalled.  "My mom has definitely been more involved, she's been the one on the visits with me and asking all the questions to the coaches. My dad has been there to give his opinions from a basketball standpoint of the coaches."

As far as his relationship with his younger brother Marcus, Jeff said laughing, "Marcus won't have a life without me," referring to when he leaves the house to go to college. Marcus, however, does feel as though his older brother deserves a good shot. "Marcus just wants to be able to watch me play wherever I go. I know he'd rather me go to a big school and see me play against the best," Jeff related.  Maybe, just maybe, that big school Marcus was hinting about will be the Illinois Fighting Illini, yet, only time will tell.  It's obvious the two could meet again in college, but who's waiting for that anyways…

When all is said and done, Jeff Jordan will have found a home at an academic institution that will more then likely be thrilled to have him. After all, who wouldn't want a class act with the last name of Jordan on their team.
