Warren Head Coach Chuck Ramsey

Chuck Ramsey led the north squad to a 116-114 victory in the 1st annual Windy City HS Hoops All-Star Classic.

1.  How did you get the job at Warren?

I was hired to teach at Warren in June,1973. I was hired as Head Varsity Coach in 1993. I worked my way up the program-Sophomore Assistant, Assistant Varsity, and 14 years as Head Sophomore.


2.  What's the best part about the 2007 Blue Devils?

Quality Kids.


3.  As a coach, what will ultimately win you a championship - a good offense or a good defense?

You must have both although I believe a coach can have more impact on defense.


4.  Who's the best player you've ever coached at Warren?

Jordan Milot, although Ceola Clark could change that before he graduates.


5.  Did you ever play basketball?

I played basketball for 4 years in High School at Johnston City, Ill. I played intramural in college but wasn't good enough to play for the school's team.


6.   What are your goals for this years team?

To get better each day.


7.   Do you see yourself retiring anytime soon?

I am retiring from teaching this year. I intend to continue coaching for a few more years.

8.   What is the one thing you love most about coaching?

Working with the athletes on the a regular basis.

9.   If you weren't a coach what would you rather do?
